Being human

This growing body of work represents a lifetime of thinking and observing. I’ve had a fascination with Anthropology—the study of humans—since I was a small child and my curiosity about humans began with family. Throughout my art practice, I am seeking to understand human experience, particularly through a child’s eyes. My art practice is intuitive, curious, and intimate. I work to infuse my art with healing properties, exploring both vulnerability and autonomy. Each piece holds within it the intention of overcoming past trauma, moving through the grieving process, and harmonizing with nature through a higher power. My art expresses overtones of childlike whimsy and playfulness, contrasted with deeper and more penetrating philosophical undertones. My hope is that each piece illustrates the duality of humanness, a realization that is vital for healing and living in balance within oneself.
