Every piece in this original art series is a whimsical and intuitive expression of hiding places from the storms of life, particularly in childhood, some physical and others emotional. The colors, shapes and textures were combined to offer healing validation on both a physical and emotional level; a balm of peace and quiet to wrap oneself in.
“An Angel To Myself,” was the moment I realized that the one who should love and care for me most, was myself. As an adult, it’s so important to forgive and nurture the child within, to provide healing, solace, and forgiveness. Trauma in childhood can fracture the soul into pieces. Healing is the process of discovering and loving those pieces back together. This work of art is a reminder to be gentle with oneself and to stop waiting for others to offer the love, one can generously offer oneself.
