Every piece in this original art series is a whimsical and intuitive expression of hiding places from the storms of life, particularly in childhood, some physical and others emotional. The colors, shapes and textures were combined to offer healing validation on both a physical and emotional level; a balm of peace and quiet to wrap oneself in.
“Behind The Facade,” a place many of us hid in childhood, and even into adulthood. The truth is, the individual behind the facade is so much more interesting and attractive than the counterfeit persona, it is truly sad when one hides who one truly is. It can certainly feel safer, but safety isn’t security. This piece encourages honest expression, so that peace and a real sense of security can help one dismantle the glass house of supposed safety, and instead, build a fortress of confidence in its place.
