Every piece in this original art series is a whimsical and intuitive expression of hiding places from the storms of life, particularly in childhood, some physical and others emotional. The colors, shapes and textures were combined to offer healing validation on both a physical and emotional level; a balm of peace and quiet to wrap oneself in.
“Hiding In The Eye Of The Storm,” was a piece I wrestled with. The circular shape was clear from the start, but it wanted more energy and depth. There was a storm here, but also the contrasting stillness that always accompanies the churning. In life, there are precarious moments when one feels blown about and caught in the intensity of wind. But if one simply moves sideways, stays intentional, and meditates on what is right internally, there is an eye of clarity that emerges. Storms come and go. Learning to find and move with the eye of knowing is the way to dissipate the storm.
