Every piece in this original art series is a whimsical and intuitive expression of hiding places from the storms of life, particularly in childhood, some physical and others emotional. The colors, shapes and textures were combined to offer healing validation on both a physical and emotional level; a balm of peace and quiet to wrap oneself in.
“In The Forest,” a fairy land, an escape, a refuge. That is what the forest was for me, and still is. The protection of the trees, with the light peeking through, is wondrous. The waves of branches swaying in the wind. The singing of the brook as it trips over the smooth, rounded boulders. The fairy rings of mushrooms and the fallen branch retreats, a child’s paradise. Despite the bad, there is the good that can feed and heal the soul.
