Every piece in this original art series is a whimsical and intuitive expression of hiding places from the storms of life, particularly in childhood, some physical and others emotional. The colors, shapes and textures were combined to offer healing validation on both a physical and emotional level; a balm of peace and quiet to wrap oneself in.
“Of Two Minds,” is the all too familiar human experience of asserting autonomy, which can happen at any stage of life. For me, sovereignty came late. I really had to work at it. But when I found my boundaries and voice, claiming my individual expression became a hiding place, a refuge.
