Red Tree

$127.00

Acrylic paints, India and Acrylic Inks, and liquid gold leaf on paper.

Measures: 6 x 9 inches—paper; 4 x 6 inches—painting
Signed and stamped with Thalia’s signature red seal
Sold unframed

This mixed media piece began as an ugly acrylic layer, and each layer that followed added texture, interest, and depth. Reminiscent of pictographic art, “Red Tree,” is symbolic of the aging and maturing process humans, and nature, experience as the varying aspects of life feed the roots and anchor growth with wisdom. We begin our human journey, as the ugly duckling did, as saplings and through our choices and hard-knocks, develop the beauty and strength that form us into worthwhile beings.
