Every piece in this original art series is a whimsical and intuitive expression of hiding places from the storms of life, particularly in childhood, some physical and others emotional. The colors, shapes and textures were combined to offer healing validation on both a physical and emotional level; a balm of peace and quiet to wrap oneself in.
“Fairy Fort,” is more than a place to hide. It is a space where magic happens. Wonder is a natural gift of childhood. Keeping that gift as one matures is not easy, but is so vital for experiencing joy. Possibility lives comfortably in whimsy, and so does hope. Regaining the ability to see and feel wonder helps us challenge pain and the rigidity of conformity, to move beyond trapped and harmful beliefs. This piece is a reminder to stop hiding in misery, and instead live in magic.
