Humans are a product of nature, yet we often view ourselves with an elevated or sinister perspective. Species, has a stick figure quality to depict the grandiose simplicity of humans attempting to comprehend themselves. The difficulty lies in that of looking through a microscope at the lens attached to the microscope. As tricky as it is to see ones nose without the aid of a mirror, it is still easier than attempting to view humanity as one of its natives. Stewards or a viral plague, humans have, according to the archeological record, endured multiple mass extinction events. It appears we are hear to stay, at least for now.
