The colors, shapes and textures were combined to offer healing validation on both a physical and emotional level; a balm of peace and quiet to wrap oneself in.
“You Can’t Change Me,” the feeling of putting down the brush strokes on this pieces was memorable. The emotion of autonomy and a rebellion against outside pressure to change flowed through me. I could feel my inner self claiming a little bit more of my sovereignty with each and every smear of paint. It was so healing, and that is what I wish for the new owner of this piece, to feel the sense of independence I felt as it was created.
